First of all, there seems to be a common misconception that if you’re feminine, you’re likely to be submissive, not have an opinion and be used as a doormat that also has the ability to cook and clean. For me, this couldn’t be further from the truth.
Being feminine is about embracing your inner feminine energy by showing compassion, love, empathy and gentleness to everyone around you.
Personally, I have always secretly desired to get married and have lots of children, but somewhere along the way (and I blame society and social pressures here), this idea was ridiculed until I had the desire to become a woman focussed on my career and climbing the corporate ladder.
Now, I don’t know whether maturity got the best of me, or whether the start of a new decade made me reflect on my past and dream about my future, but something inside just clicked and I was no longer willing to play by someone else’s rules or live up to their standards.
And so, my journey of embracing my feminine side began. Don’t worry, I totally understand, internally wanting to be more feminine and then putting this into practice each and every day is two completely different things and can be quite daunting.
So, as a helping hand, here is your 7 day guide to becoming more feminine and the best version of yourself!
Side note: as you go through these next 7 days, I really recommend you take note throughout the day of how you feel, how in touch with your feminine side you are and where you may need to do some extra work on yourself.
Day 1: Pamper yourself and relax
How can you serve your friends and family if you don’t even serve yourself? Take the day to truly relax and pamper yourself. After all, to enjoy some pamper time is top on every feminine woman’s agenda! I hereby give you permission to have a manicure, take an extra long bubble bath or simply enjoy a glass of champagne whilst reading the book you’ve been putting off.
Or if you prefer to pamper at home, make sure you read my blog on at home beauty essentials.

Day 2: Buy some fresh flowers and place them around your home
A fresh bouquet of flowers brightens up every home. My top tip is to purchase the larger bouquets and then split them across a few vases and place them throughout your home.
Day 3: Bake
I’m not sure there’s anything that screams femininity more than a freshly baked tray of cookies. Even if your current baking level is “could burn water”, still spend some time making a delicious treat for your friends or family – you’ll feel so much better afterwards and so in tune with your feminine side.
Day 4: Put your makeup on and a dress
Please don’t get confused with applying full glam and enhancing your gorgeous, natural features. A feminine woman wears natural makeup to compliment and enhance her best bits and certainly doesn’t wear makeup that isn’t suited to her complexion. Wearing a dress or skirt is also an immediate way to turn on your feminine energy and make you feel amazing.
Day 5: Give at least 5 compliments throughout the day
Part of being a feminine woman is to build others up and make them feel important and cared for. Paying someone a compliment costs nothing to you but can mean everything to someone else. Also, spending the day not complaining or speaking negatively will have a huge ripple effect across all your relationships for the better.
Day 6: Receive help with grace
Accepting help from others is not about being helpless or proving that you can do everything yourself. It’s about allowing a man to help you and allowing him to embrace his masculinity, which in turn will have a lasting effect on your femininity.
Day 7: Speak softly and do not swear
My biggest hurdle in becoming more feminine was speaking softer and not swearing. In my teenage years I couldn’t care less if I was shouting or swearing and I would easily cuss anyone out. One of my most infamous moments is getting out of the car to shout at someone who had cut me up on a roundabout #CRINGE !!
But it wasn’t until my man made a comment on how unattractive it was for me to swear that I suddenly stopped and took note. He was completely right! It was certainly not ladylike nor feminine to be acting in such a way. So learn from my mistakes, and chose your words carefully.
